Kaitlyn Friot

Kaitlyn Friot spent most of her childhood in central Vermont, surrounded by her family and their beloved dogs. She graduated high school early and went on to attend the University of Vermont, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus in Early Childhood Education in 2020.
During her time at UVM, Kaitlyn gained valuable experience student teaching in several schools across Vermont, where she discovered her passion for supporting young learners and creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments.
In 2022, Kaitlyn joined the IMS community, taking on multiple roles including Lead Guide, Center Director, Enrollment Team member, and Enrichment Programs Coordinator. In 2024, she relocated to North Carolina, continuing her dedication to fostering early childhood growth and learning.

Immersion Montessori School is preparing to open its first Research Triangle Region campus in Carrboro, North Carolina, offering Nido & Toddler programs for children ages 3 months–3 years.
This campus will provide authentic Montessori environments intentionally designed for our youngest learners, with a focus on daily language immersion, warm and responsive caregiver–child relationships, and rich nature-based exploration. The program supports secure attachment, early independence, and developmental rhythms through thoughtfully prepared indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Carrboro campus is led by Kaitlyn Friot, former Director of our Vermont campus, who has relocated to North Carolina with her family. Kaitlyn brings deep Montessori experience and proven leadership, ensuring continuity of IMS quality as the program takes root in the Research Triangle community.
